Intrepid Center ribbon cutting photo

The New Intrepid Spirit Center

On Sept. 18, 2024, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at William Beaumont Army Medical Center to celebrate the opening of the newly constructed Intrepid Spirit Center. The ceremony was celebrated with commemorative speeches and guided tours of the new building. The Ft. Bliss Intrepid Spirit Center is the last one to be built for the Defense Intrepid Network for TBI and Brain Health.

Team members from the Topeka-based VA Eastern Kansas Health Care System and Leavenworth’s Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Medical Center met with leaders at Munson Army Health Center on Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Sept. 17.

Munson, VA Collaborate to Enhance Healthcare, Strengthen Readiness

The purpose of the meeting was to explore partnership opportunities aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery for military personnel and veterans, and training opportunities for Munson soldiers in medical career fields.

Photos of the post’s previous medical commanders displayed in the command hallway date back to 1827.

MRC/DHN West leaders visit Munson Army Health Center

Leaders from DHN West and MRC West visited Munson to meet with soldiers, civilian employees, and leaders, and to observe Munson’s medical mission in action.

Following an intense four-day evaluation, U.S. Army Physical Therapist 1st Lt. Trent McPherson, assigned to Munson Army Health Center, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, earned his Expert Field Medical Badge Aug. 15, on Fort Carson, Colorado. The EFMB is considered one of the most challenging and difficult-to-earn badges in the U.S. Army.
