Military personnel will continue in a normal duty status without pay until such time as a continuing resolution or appropriations are passed by Congress and signed into law. DHA IT teams recognized for their contribution to improving military medicine

Three DHA teams received awards for their work in auditability compliance, cybersecurity, and rationalization/alignment of resources in military hospital and clinics.

The 2025 Defense Health Information Technology Symposium kicked off in Nashville, Tennessee, Aug. 26, 2025 with Pat Flanders, chief information officer for the Defense Health Agency, and Thomas Hines, technical director, chief information security officer, Defense Health Agency, touching on the Department of Defense’s efforts to modernize the healthcare system, enterprise intelligence and data solutions, and IT modernization. The symposium focused on the theme, “Empowering Care, Enhancing Readiness: Harnessing Health IT Innovation.”

The 2025 Defense Health Information Technology Symposium kicked off in Nashville, Tennessee, with Mr. Pat Flanders, chief information officer for the Defense Health Agency, addressing more than 2,300 attendees Aug. 26.

The 2025 Defense Health Information Technology Symposium, held in Nashville, Tennessee, August 26-28, 2025 focused on the latest and modern information technology projects and research across the Military Health System. Military and industry IT leaders, researchers, and healthcare professionals shared their work through plenary and breakout sessions. During the week, breakout session speakers covered a variety of topics like artificial intelligence in health care, health informatics, new tools and technology, healthcare innovation, enterprise capabilities, and issues concerning the IT workforce, as well as opportunities to address senior leaders. The symposium focused on the theme, “Empowering Care, Enhancing Readiness: Harnessing Health IT Innovation.”
