The Ebola epidemic that began in West Africa in late 2013 cause more than 11,000 deaths. It was ended through the efforts of local health care workers, such as the one shown, and a massive response by organizations such as Doctors Without Borders (MSF). Dr. Mike Bray, an Army medic in Viet Nam and former virus researcher at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick, will discuss Ebola virus disease, the history of outbreaks and the progress made in the past 10 years in developing approved vaccines and treatments.
