CMSgt JoLynn M. Kari is the Senior Enlisted Leader, J-3/5/7 at the Defense Health Agency, Falls Church, Virgina. She is responsible for providing enlisted oversight and guidance for the integration of military and civilian healthcare delivery for the Military Health System in support of readiness and peacetime missions ensuring Defense Health Agency operational support to military medical treatment facilities, Combatant Commands, the Joint Staff, and the Services to guarantee a medically ready force and a ready medical force.
Additionally, Kari is the personal advisor to the Commander, Defense Health Agency, Air Force Element on all issues regarding the welfare, readiness, morale and proper utilization and progression for the 362 Airmen delivering support and expertise across 14 geographically separated units.
Kari entered the Air Force in Nov 1997 and graduated from Health Services Management technical training in April 1998. Throughout her career she has worked in various leadership roles at the squadron, group and Major Commands. Her assignments include tours in Air Education and Training Command, Pacific Air Forces, Air Combat Command, Air Mobility Command, United States Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces Africa and Air Force Global Strike Command. Prior to her current position, was the Senior Enlisted Leader, 5th Medical Group, Minot Air Force Base, North Dakota.
Her most recent posts include servings as Senior Enlisted Leader, 48th Medical Group, RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom; Chief, Medical Enlisted Force, Office of the Command Surgeon, Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale AFB, Louisiana; and Senior Enlisted Leader, 5th Medical Group, Minot AFB, North Dakota.
Her awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with five oak leaf clusters, Air and Space Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, and Air and Space Achievement Medal with one oakleaf cluster.
Kari earned her Bachelor of Science, Health Services Management (Summa Cum Laude), from Wayland Baptist University, Texas, and has completed multiple senior leader courses throughout her career with the DHA.
